I had a great stay, laughter, joy, good humour and happiness with people and animals. The work is quite difficult but it's a beautiful life experience. Thank you for everything :)

One of the best volunteering experiences I've ever had. The tasks involve feeding the animals and cleaning their area, which can be a bit tiring but is incredibly rewarding. The animals are very loving. Claire and everyone on the farm are always helpful and willing to assist us whenever we need it. The rooms are shared and very comfortable. I loved the farm and highly recommend it!

My stay at the farm was simply fantastic: the hosts and managers are very easygoing and always make you feel comfortable. The work is physically tough but rewarding, knowing that you're improving the lives of creatures that would otherwise be in difficulty. Life in the house is a whirlwind of emotions perfect for connecting with people from all over the world. I will definitely be back! Thank you so much!

From the first moment I arrived I've felt so welcomed and comfortable. Everybody was so nice and friendly, always happy to help - honestly I don't think I've ever heard more 'please' and 'thank you's' in my life before:D Even though to some people the work could seem a bit challenging sometimes, it was never anything extremely hard or unbearable and definitely nothing that couldn't be fixed with some cuddles from any the shelter close at that time. My only advice would be: don't be afraid to ask:-) Thank you everyone for making my stay so unforgettable, I couldn't possibly ask for more<3

I had the best time working at MLHR! People were always nice, kind and easy to work with. Have no fears at all! The place you'll be staying is comfy and has everything you need. People are always there to help you with anything and the animals are great. I'm sure you'll love it and will want to go back like I do. Thank you for everything, I'll cherish these memories forever🩷

It was a good experience, I liked a lot of. We had an unforeseen event due to storm Eowyn, and we didn't have electricity and water, but the staff was impeccable in trying to resolve the conditions Of the volunteers and the animals. I'm very grateful for this experience and opportunity ☺️

My Love Horse the shelter is really a contagious place, which makes us wake up in the morning and worry if any little the shelter is not well or sick, if it has already been fed or was warm enough. The entire space team is kind and the volunteers who arrive every day are very nice. I would really go back to this place. The work is not easy, but everyone works together and any doubts are clarified immediately. Thank you all for welcoming me so well in this place. Thank you Claire!

Thanks so much. Jhonatan was amazing! At a time where other volunteers had let us down, the work was hard but he did it with a smile. So hardworking and fun. We would welcome him again any time.

I loved my time on the farm! Working so closely with animals was such a rewarding experience! The work wasn't so hard, but was tiring in the best way. The current volunteer house isn't in the best shape (moldy bathroom, peeling linoleum) but the dorms felt clean/cozy. Beware there is only 1 shower (for at times 20+ people). I think the team would benefit from more communication, as volunteers would often be given different/conflicting info, and then be chastised for not doing things right. The work done here is so important, and I'm grateful for the experience! Would recommend applying.

I met some really lovely volunteers, but overall, the experience was challenging. There was a lack of clear communication, not just with my expectations but with genreal house ones too. Feedback on my last day was delivered harshly by one individual, this occurred to me and other volunteers, leading to tears from a few of us. If I had been told this feedback earlier on, I could have met her standards. Despite doing my best with the lack of water during part of my stay, I felt I was falling short. Clearer expectations and respectful communication would make a difference for future volunteers.

In the end I had the most wonderful time and felt very included in the group. The field with the horses is just magical and I also enjoyed the work (consisting mostly of cleaning stables and walking dogs). I learned so so much while staying there. If it was just my last two weeks (I spent a month there) I would have given 5 stars. My first two weeks however were quite difficult for me. It took me a while to adapt to the group dynamics and feel confident in my work. I feel like there is some room for improvement regarding the introduction of newcomers when it comes to horses.
