The volunteer experience at Wat Phrai Phatthana is very enriching for me. An experience where I got more than what I expected. I feel I have created a big difference in teaching English to the monks and the primary school Students. The monks are very enthusiastic to learn and look up high on us to understand English . We as a teachers are flexible to teach the way we want and the topics we can. All that matters is the monks and students be able to communicate in English. the school folks Savon is doing a great job in pulling volunteers together and providing the school to all. Thanks Savon and Channa

I did not get to live the full experience, unfortunately, as when I arrived at the school I was told the kids were on holiday, and nobody had mentioned it during the application. So everything felt quite disorganised and a lot of responsibilities were put onto the volunteers, but I could leave after a few days. However, this is such a nice project and I am sure that these were all a combination of circumstances as everything is now taken care of.

Hi Elisa! we are sorry that you came in the middle of the holidays, and we have had to travel back and forth to Thailand, to get the school at the temple running. But everything is organized and back to normal again now, and you are always welcome at the ECC school, if you ever come back to Cambodia or Thailand. Wish you the best of luck and safe travels.

This was my first trip and it was better than expected! Savon and Savunth were very friendly hosts, fetching us from the airport, taking care of our meals and lovely accommodation. This is a collaboration between ECC and a Thai school, and we have the opportunity to teach children from primary school to secondary school. Our stay coincided with a cultural festival, so we had the added bonus of immersing ourselves in the local thai culture. However, we were unable to borrow a scooter as it was sent for repair, so we borrowed from the neighbours, and do note that there is a fee of $USD 8/day

Thank you for your message Yeo. We understand and appreciate your feedback. If you return we would like to buy a scooter for the school so volunteers can explore the countryside. Thank you again for all the time you gave to us.

Muchas gracias :)

The experience the school was really pleasing. Especially the experience of teaching children was meaningful. The children were bright and lovely. I hope it helped them even though I stayed for a short time. I would also like to thank SAVON and many others who care a lot about the volunteers. Additionally, I think I'm very lucky that I was able to unexpectedly go to the school Cambodia and see Angkor Wat!
