The Experience

Hi! My name is Diego and I own a farm in Aquitania, Boyacá (Colombia). In this beautiful environment I realise tours on horseback with tourists through the Páramo hills, with a stunning view of the Tota Lake. I own about 15 horses, which need care, attention and training. Some of them were rescued from maltreatment. In the small village of Toquilla (Aquitania) we are all neighbours and the community will welcome you with open arms.

I didn't have any experience with horses beforehand, but it was easy to quickly learn a lot! After the first few days I was able to go riding on my own and explore the nature. I paid a contribution per day for food for the animals and I got a lot of cool experiences in return. It is also a very nice place to relax, quiet and surrounded by nature. Diego and Gina always made me feel welcome :)

It was an interesting experince that allows me to learn more about horses, even if I was a beginner. I also discovered the beautiful region of Boyaca and Paramo's landscapes. The place is isolated from the small village of Toquilla, I enjoyed the peace and welcoming people. Most of my tasks were about feeding animals/horses and few stuffs aroud the house and the finca. It was not difficult. No tourists were there during my say, maybe it can impact the type of task you can have. I stayed alone with Diego, you can easily talk and share a lot with him, I practised a lot my Spanish
