My 1st experience volunteering at the hostel was THE BEST! Aparna managed very good the activities where I had to participate and create content … The manager of the hostel, Ancy , show me everything around the hostel and the neighbourhood make me feel at home all the time, I got such a good memories in this stay. I did so little in comparison whit what I got ! I hope coming back next year.

My time at the hostel was very nice! I arrived during the off-season, but there was still plenty to do around the area. The hostel has a great location far enough from the busy areas to be peaceful, but close enough to restaurants if you need them. Aparna is very flexible with the work, and I really enjoyed creating content during my stay. The place itself is lovely, and the balcony is amazing for doing yoga, relaxing, or watching the sunset. If you're looking for a more relaxed side of India with opportunities to practice yoga and surf, this is the place!

Unfortunately, I was only able to stay for one week but I had the best time! I felt very welcomed and can tell the place is very special. When I stayed there, there wasn't too much work to do, accordingly I had a lot of free time and was able to enjoy the beautiful nature in Varkala. Hope I can come back one time and stay longer.

What a pleasure been part of this beautiful project! Aparna is super flexible, has a huge warm heart (so try to enjoy this project in the best way and not just be another volunteer), is always willing to help you and clarify things of work. She will allow you to be free to explore and activate your creative side. Just do it! My days in Varkala were quiet/chill and with the company of Ancy (manager) I could understand more the local culture and live beautiful experiences! Thanks for having me, Aparna! You rock! And I can't wait to be back one day to see this project still strong and bigger! =)
