The Experience

The most important job would be to help us for reception work: check ins, check outs, rent scooters, sell buses and tours and so on. On top of that, you would help decorate the hostel, and make it more welcoming to backpackers in general ๐Ÿ˜Š We have a team of 4 staff and around 6 volunteers, and we're a big family that shares everything, and eat lunch and dinner together ๐Ÿœ

Lan is a very kind person and a great person to work for. She brought us out on the town a few times and we got to experience the local side of Ninh Binh which was really nice. I even joined the gym with her while I was there. She explained everything thoroughly and the tasks were easy. The food is really good(if you've done the hi giang loop the food is very similar to that) the beds were very comfy and there's a curtain for privacy. The staff were very nice and Sap and kimchi(lan's pets)totally adorable! Unfortunately I had to leave early and she was very gracious and understanding.

My experience in the hostel was very good overall, it was quiet most of the time which can be a little bit boring but everything else was great. I had good times with other volunteers, guests, and with the host Lan, who is very friendly, helpful and flexible for your needs. Also the workers, they don't speak English so it's not very easy to communicate with them but at the same time it makes it a nice experience too, they are a local family always working their best and cooking amazing local food for us which is highly appreciated too.

Lan is a very generous host, the food is amazing and the work is clear. The hostel is gorgeous and you can explore the surroundings by yourself just taking a bike.

My experience in the hostel has been great. It has been a bit quiet in the hostel some of the weeks I've been here, but we've also had busy days. The job is very chill. Lan is amazing! She's a big part of the social life in the hostel, planning pub crawls with the volunteers and guests. The food in the hostel is also worth mentioning since it's some of the best Vietnamese food I've had in all of my time in Vietnam. Big recommendation from me!

This was an amazing experience, the host Lan is so welcoming and accommodating with days off and nights out. I met so many amazing people. The only thing I would note is that it's actually 30 hours each week, not 25, but it didn't feel like a problem as the work was very simple!
