I had a great experience in ozomatil. Its a beautiful place surrounded by nature and the sea. The work is tough and and physical, but is definitely worth it and you will learn a lot from the work snd from oscar. Oscar and chris are great hosts and from the first day they welcomed me and I felt comfortable in the space. After a day of work we would head to the pueblo and they introduced me to locals, we at delicious food, and learned to surf and juggle. There is no wifi at the cabaña so it is a great way to disconnect and be present. I highly recommend this special, irregular experience.

My time at the eco village was amazing! If you want a true Chacahua experience, this is the place to volunteer. We worked hard when we were working but Oscar and Christina showed us the relaxing side of Chacahua too. The food was delicious and you will truly get to feel welcomed in my the community of Chacahua. You will be part of nature while staying at the eco village, meet amazing people, eat a variety of great foods, and I would recommend volunteering here if you want those aspects to be part of you experience.

I was supposed to only spend a week here, but ended up staying three weeks! This place is amazing. You sleep in an open cabana directly at the beach surrounded by nature, the place is very simple and disconnected, but that's what makes it very relaxing. And Oskar is amazing, he has a very relaxed lifestyle, always happy. I got to know many of his local friends, definitely improved my Spanish and learned how to cook some Mexican food! I loved the time I had here and I could have even stayed longer, such a special place and a special time in Chacahua! Definitely recommend it:)

Ozomati is quite secluded—a place to relax and unwind. However, you have to be okay with living right in the middle of nature. You sleep in a tent or an open bungalow. Oskar cooks delicious meals every afternoon. He's not a man of many words. We came as a couple, and we found the social aspect with Oskar a bit lacking. When it came to building and doing things, he gave us free rein. We built the shower, painted the well, and watered the plants every morning.

Life at the eco village is very relaxed. The Cabana at the beach is beautiful and Oscar is a great cook. You really can't go wrong stoping by here when you are in the area. Surfing is great in the Ocean and wildlife watching in the Laguna. The work itself is phsyical, either gardening or help constructing more cabanas.
