The Experience

We live on 9 acres of pristine forest, just 3 km from a charming seaside town. As a carpenter, I've dedicated the last six years to hand-building a second home on our property with the help of my two daughters and wonderful volunteers. Now that it's complete, I'm seeking some extra hands to assist with simple building tasks, vegetable gardening, and general house maintenance, cleaning snd cooking.

My stay with Jeff was truly wonderful. His beautiful house is located in the bush and he provided me an own spacious room. We went on several trips together and he showed me hidden local gems that I deeply appreciated. The work was very pleasant and well organized. I learned a lot from Jeff, especially about self-sufficiency and practical skills. He also supported me greatly in planning my road trip, which was incredibly helpful. Jeff is very kind, welcoming and always willing to help. It's a place where you can fully recharge! His two dogs were absolutely lovable. I'm grateful for this time!

My time down south with Jeff and Billie was awesome, they were great hosts and I am thankful to them for having me. Tasks were mainly outdoor landscaping/garden maintenance, as well as helping with cooking dinner and dishes. Jeff has a stunning property, Dunsborough is a gem and I'll definitely be back for a visit!

We enjoyed having Hayley stay with us. She was very helpful and responsive to all the tasks I gave her. Hayley fitted into home life very easily and was a pleasure to have around. We are grateful for her help and hope she does come and visit or stay over.

Jeff and Billie are wonderful hosts. If you visit during the summer, chances are you'll get to go to the local beaches. I helped with half cleaning half cooking. Cleaning was mainly deep cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms, windows, or the car. I even got to sand and oil some wood. Cooking was for 1-2 hours making banana bread, focaccia, hummus and dinners. Jeff has a kind and forgiving heart but is particular about certain aspects so make sure to ask what the standard is of the task so you can meet expectations.
