My experience at the winery & the winery was amazing. Jo is an incredibly generous and knowledgeable host, always happy to share insights about the local area as well as plenty of great tips on places to visit and explore. I had a lot of fun learning about how he makes his cider, brandy, pommeau, limoncello, and his other products. Working at the winery was always engaging thanks to the variety of tasks, which kept each day interesting and hands-on. A definite highlight was Jo's incredible cooking — and of course, spending time with Jet.

This is the Worldpackers lottery :) I had an absolutely incredible stay at the winery. Jo is extremely kind and very generous and ensures you have an enjoyable stay. The work is very straightforward/simple leaving plenty of time to hang out with Jo's dog Jet and throw his ball :) Jo is very knowledgeable about the winery operations so there's lots of interesting things to learn and the tastings are fun to assist with! Jo made sure I got to see lots of Tasmania and introduced me to a lot of genuine people. I am so appreciative to have stayed with Jo and Jet! Highly recommend!!

Jo is incredibly generous and knowledgeable about all things Tasmania, travelling and distilling! Was expecting only an education on distilling but Jo taught me so much about life. Takes a while to get Jos humour but once you do you'll have lots of laughs with him. The views from the property and everywhere near it were incredible so many places to visit near the winery. And Jet his dog is the best companion!

I was given a list with tasks which had to be done and was able to work independently, which allowed me to develop new skilled and gain new experiences. Wilmont the winery is a beautiful place, offering great facilities for volunteers. There are many options with work tasks, from which you can choose on based on your interests and skills. For me, volunteering offerend a learning experience with gardening. As a host Jo is very generours and made possible for us to see Tasmania when we had our days off. He has a unique sense of humour, and sometimes communication between us could've fuctioned a bit better to avoid misunderstandings. All in all, a beautiful and interesting place to volunteer and a great opportunity to see Tasmania.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to! We got a list of tasks to follow and learned a lot about gardening. Jo is quite precise about how things are done but most of the time we were working independently - that caused a few misunderstandings. He is very generous and let us use his car to explore the surroundings. Tasks were not too difficult and we had plenty of free time. Jo's dog is absolutely adorable and the small cabin we got to live in was well cute.
