The experience

I’m Jo, owner of Wilmot Hills Distillery, a boutique distillery and orchard nestled at the foothills of beautiful Mount Roland. We specialize in small-batch spirits, liqueurs, ciders, and brandy. We’re 30 minutes from Devonport and 40 minutes from Cradle Mountain World Heritage area. Volunteers help occasionally around the orchard and distillery with plenty of time to explore. Cozy, warm accommodation provided.

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Beginner English

Between 18 and 40 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Basically, I need help with basic duties around the distillery and orchard - In exchange for a chance to explore the beautiful area in which we are located. You'll learn skills in the age-old art of distilling on our picturesque and beautiful property.

Activities & Shift

As mentioned, daily duties would include basic help around the distillery and Orchard. The work involved is fun and interesting to say the very least. You'll be guaranteed at least 3 to 4 days off per week for downtime to explore at your own leisure.

Rules

*DESIRABLE HAVE A CAR* Allows you will have more freedom to travel and be independent, I will however take you to Cradle Mountain and collect you after my Cellar door is closed. House rules are as follows. No parties. No unauthorised guests or visitors without formal prior approval. No operation of equipment or machinery without training and instruction first. That's about it really :)
