It's hard to put my experience at the shelter into words. I did a lot of research about ethical elephant tours. I didn't find any that fit my expectations or that I felt were truly ethical and respectful. I saw a video of another volunteer (Julia), and it caught my attention. It looked great and genuinely honest when it came to the treatment of the animals. So I had high expectations, and I am so happy to say that the shelter has exceeded them all. Please don't hesitate, don't second-guess yourself, just apply and be ready for the experience of your life. You'll learn so much.

This is definitely the best volunteering experience I've ever had. It's paradise there. Jack is an incredible guy, polite, and aware of how to really help and care for elephants. When I got there and saw that waterfall in the backyard of the homestay, I was impressed. What's more, the rooms and mattresses are extremely comfortable and the food is fabulous. The elephants are so sweet and powerful at the same time. The experience of following their daily lives was incredible! Jack really loves elephants!

If you're looking for a sign to finally book this experience, THIS is the one you were waiting for! Volunteering at the shelter was honestly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. This place is truly ethical and you'll learn a lot, not only about elephants, but also about culture, social and environmental awareness, politics... everything is interconnected. The work is super chill, giving you time to enjoy nature, connect with the elephants and even join unforgettable moments, like the traditional Karen wedding Jack took us to in his village! Jack, thank you so much!

Jack is super nice and a great host! I spent almost one week with 2 super cute elephants, which was amazing! The tasks are pretty easy, and you can naturally see the elephants in their habitats. If you love elephants and wanna spend some time observing them, don't miss this chance. Jack will help you with every issue. He loves animals, and he is knowledgeable. So you will have fun and also the place where you stay, it is AMAZING! You have your own waterfall, really haha! I am so thankful to Jack and will visit again there. Maybe when Pailin has baby:)

A beautiful and relaxed stay! Jack took us to see the elephants every “on” day and offered to give us recommendations of things to do close to the shelter. The food was spectacular and the accommodations felt cozy and safe. This was definitely a home stay situation but it was nice to slow down and spend time outdoors for most of the time here. Thank you for everything Jack! I look forward to seeing how the shelter develops in the future :)
