A reserva tem missão importantíssima para a história do Brasil no mundo: preservar mais de 50 sítios arqueológicos da região, contendo pinturas rupestres e sepultamentos com mais de 8 mil anos de história! O fundador Gustavo Villa e a diretora Marina Gomide são dois apaixonados por astronomia cultural (a partir da cosmopercepção dos povos originários) e história, e têm como objetivo educar e conscientizar estudantes, adultos, governantes e moradores sobre a preservação desses sítios arqueológicos, além da fauna e flora endêmicos do serrado mineiro; que só existem aqui.

Foi uma experiência bacana. A sede está em construção e as instalações são muito confortáveis. Gustavo e Marina são bem atenciosos e prestativos. O local fica bem isolado da cidade, a paisagem é simplesmente incrível com muitas montanhas próximas para conhecer e percorrer.
