Nuestro hotel es relativamente nuevo, en San Miguel, Flores; Guatemala, rodeado de bosque y a la orilla del lago en la península Tayasal (no se preocupe por el transporte, tenemos bote gratuito cada hora a la isla de flores), si buscas un lugar tranquilo y la conexión con la naturaleza es el buscar que buscas! Buscamos voluntarios que quieran aprender sobre hospitalidad y ayudarnos en tareas simple en el bar y hotel.

My girlfriend and I spent two week working at the hotel and absolutely loved it. We were their first volunteers and they were our first hosts! They let you use the kayaks and hammocks once you are done with work. Also I got food poisoning at one point and had no issues not making me work while I recovered. As far as the cultural exchange goes it was amazing. Shout out Jose for having dinner with us and having good cultural knowledge, Alfredo (and andre) for taking us to Poptun, Ronaldo for being a good friend, and everyone for being so kind and patient. Hope to somehow see you all again.

My overall experience at the hotel has been incredible. This was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't be happier with how it went. I think the type of work and hours are exceptionally fair for all the accommodations provided. The staff were very welcoming and patient as we learned how to be apart of their crew. If you are interested in learning and/or progressing in Spanish then this is a perfect place for that. The hotel is just a five minute boat ride from the beautiful island of Flores where there is much to do and see. I highly recommend this volunteer opportunity!

Esta experiencia fue mi primer voluntario y no podría haber elegido un lugar mejor! Me siento muy afortunada haber tenido la oportunidad de compartir y aprender en este maravilloso lugar. Hizo una mezcla de limpieza y recepción y aprendí mucho! Gracias a todo el personal, fue un placer compartir con ellos. Recomiendo este voluntario a cualquier persona que quiere tomar un descanso de su rutina diaria y que busca estar cerca de la naturaleza y encontrar paz :) Lo que ofrecen a cambio del trabajo es muy generoso, y te permiten relajar también y visitar Flores en tus días libres.

En el lugar que nos asignaron para dormir nosotras tuvimos que limpiarlo, llevaba meses abandonado, con papeles en el baño y muy mal olor. El aire acondicionado se descompuso, lo arreglaron y se volvió a descomponer, decidieron no arreglarlo, porque ya solo nos quedaban 4 noches. El baño olía muy mal por más que lo limpiabamos y las camas súper incómodas. El piso de arriba es de madera, lxs huéspedes que salían a tour 4 a.m. nos despertaban si o si, la gerente no nos quiso dar otra habitación por más que planteamos las razones, aún cuando si había cuartos disponibles. Fue una mala experiencia.

Las chicas no se presentaron en las fechas que ellas mismas eligieron. Desde su llegada se les asignaron habitaciones con aire acondicionado, pero por falta de tiempo no se pudo reparar y se les brindó un ventilador. Mostraron falta de compromiso, no cumplían con tareas ni horarios, y parecía que solo buscaban hospedaje, no una experiencia de voluntariado. Estando en temporada alta, necesitábamos apoyo. Nuestras reseñas hablan por sí solas; en cambio, las que ellas reciben demuestran como son.

Mi estadía en the hotel fue de gran crecimiento personal, es un lugar rodeado de naturaleza y frente al Lago Petén, Es ideal para desconectarte de la ciudad. Desde el primer día me hicieron sentir parte del equipo y estar en una familia, estuvieron pendiente de mi, y siempre recibí más de lo que me ofrecieron. Me sentí afortunada y privilegiada de realizar este voluntariado, las tareas de recepción y administración no son complicadas, te explican muy bien las funciones y están prestos a explicar todos los procesos internos que se manejan. Solo tengo palabras de agradecimiento ❤️
