The Experience

Last year with the help of an exceptional volunteer from France, we began a ballet program for our girls here in rural Cambodia. It was an instant success and a game changer! We’ve had four ballet teachers in total since beginning the program. Unfortunately, the last three have canceled. And the children have been disappointed. We’re looking for another volunteer as wonderful and committed as our previous teachers.

I loved my time at the the school, it was so rewarding! The kids there are so clever and kind. Especially the older girls, teaching them ballet was a pleasure, they were so engaged and really wanted to learn it was so nice to share my love for dancing with them. Tracy is so lovely and accommodating and i'm so grateful for her support throughout.

I had an incredibly special time during my stay at the the school. Tracy is so welcoming and the other teachers and all the children are so lovely!! I thoroughly enjoyed teaching ballet to the students and just generally interacting with all the children throughout my stay. I already miss it so much and would happily go back again!!!

I really loved my time here! I stayed 3 weeks and in that time I really got to learn so much about the culture, make connections with so many of the wonderful children, share my dance knowledge, and enjoy the peaceful countryside! The hours were minimal, it's a very comfortable place to live, and the town is beautiful! So nice to explore the area in all the down time. The owner Tracy was also always so helpful towards me and is doing such great work in this rural area to really help the kids in more ways than just education. The Khmer people are always such a pleasure to be around as well :)

This was a life changing volunteer opportunity. The work Tracy is doing at the the school is providing underprivileged children with opportunities to prosper and achieve their hopes. Tracy gives the volunteers great independence allowing you to share your skill with the children to the best of your ability. Tracy was always supportive of new ideas to teach the children and support the community. Tracy was also extremely assisting us with recommendations and coordinating plans for our out of the school activities. The children are a dream to teach and are incredibly passionate!
