The Experience

Omah Sinau is an independent organisation, eco-farm & creative space where it is an inclusive and comfort space at the heart of rural village where everyone could meet and collaborate. We aim to increase the potential tourism at this region (East Java) which will help to improve the socioeconomic status of the people who live here. The volunteers will have a chance to go to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Mount Semeru & many more undiscovered places.

I had a beautiful experience volunteering at Omah Sinau. I feel like I really had the chance to get to know the local culture and connect with local people. Moreover, I really agree with their goals and truly hope they get to accomplish them one day! :)

Staying at Omah Sinau was such a cool and meaningful experience. It's a very local setting (we were the only foreigners in the village) which made everything feel really authentic and different from the usual tourist spots. We got to talk with people from the region and learn more about them, their customs, aspirations, etc. Everyone was super welcoming. Asih, the host, was super nice and flexible, she adapted the activities depending on how I was feeling. During the stay, we helped out in the garden, and joined school visits to Omah Sinau to talk with students.

I really enjoyed learning how to cooks the locals food and makes tea, everything was so tasty! Thank you the organization family !
