It was a really chilled and fun atmosphere. On the first days when I arrived we went camping with a friend of him close to Mount Fuji which was a pretty cool experience as it's not a common tourist activity in Japan. Dan is an easy going person, who made me feel comfortable. Also it's easy to visit Tokyo with public transportation in your free time as there are a few bus station nearby (it takes you 1-1,5 hours depending where you want to go). I stayed only for a short term, but I would definitely recommend.

My experience with Dan was varied. We did work in renovation of abandoned houses all the way to organising events. During my 3 week stay we even went to Hokkido for just over 1 week which was very good, we camped around different places and experienced many varieties of Onsen. Day to day it's pretty simple wake up, eat work after you have finished the work you can do whatever you like. Food is good. There's not really anything to complain about you work a few hours in exchange for accommodation food and different experiences.

I wouldn't recommend it. Dan was uncommunicative and inconsiderate and didn't engage in any conversation. His apartment is very dirty to the point where I couldn't even use the kitchen because I was so disgusted by it. I came for it to be a good learning opportunity about social media and editing or something but the one editing job he gave me was just using plain templates and adding some photos and he gave me the impression of not really knowing what to do either. The rest of the work was some eBay reselling research. Really boring and not what I came for. I left 5 days early.

My stay was disappointing. The apartment is so dirty, I do not think it has ever been cleaned and I was seriously disgusted. I also did not have a door and therefore no actual privacy. My task was mainly (illegally) downloading youtube videos and then putting them on a usb drive. Occasionally I did some research about Tourism Professionals. The work was easy but truly boring and not what I came for at all. Dan also rarely communicated with me, and never outside of work. Also none of the things mentioned in the profile are available/will happen.

I had an amazing experience here, Dani was a very nice host, who made me feel welcome. I was here only for a short while, but I can really recommend anyone to come here!
