The Experience

Hello :) We're a small, family-owned pub and guesthouse nestled in the heart of Kilmeena, just 5 minutes from Westport. Run by the Fitzgeralds since 1927, we offer a warm, welcoming environment where volunteers can immerse themselves in Irish culture. We're looking for someone to assist with cleaning and reception tasks, ensuring our guests feel at home. Enjoy exploring the scenic Greenway, just 1km away, and discover Westport in your free time.

The family is really welcoming, helpful and they really want to make you feel you're part of the family. We had really good conversations and made connections. The BnB and the pub is absolutely awesome, I really grew in this wonderful environment, and I learned a lot . The schedule is quite flexible, and they are really flexible about off days too, also helpful, and aware of your needs. Overall I can recommend this experience to everybody who wants to learn about housekeeping and feel like a local, but also wants to explore some magical places. Thank you for everything, I'll be back for sure:)

Experiencia fantástica. El guesthouse se encuentra rodeado de montañas y naturaleza; se respira un aire puro y de tranquilidad. Se puede salir a correr o caminar y hay muy buena conexión desde Westport al resto de ciudades. Yo me sentí como en casa, la familia te acoge como uno más. El trabajo consta de simples tareas domésticas como arreglar las habitaciones, tender ropa, pasear a los perros... A parte al tener un pub siempre hay ambiente y nueva gente con la que hablar. Es un lugar perfecto si quieres estar en calma con la naturaleza y vivir la experiencia con una familia irlandesa.
