The Experience

For the most part, Casa Milagro is at an 90% finished. We need painting and cleaning, and any construction work is a plus, also pool maintenance, electrical. At the present moment there is nobody there. The third floor is a penthouse all active and finalized. In the Second floor we have two bedrooms that can be occupied. One has AC, and fan, ....using the AC would only cost the electricity usage. see: villamilagro.mx

I applied 2 weeks before arrival and we were in constant contact. I received clear instructions and I arrived on the appointed day. And I was met. I spent a good 10 days .Saturday, Sunday I rested . Monday-friday work and helped all morning 🌄 🌅 day during the week. The work is different, mainly men's work, but I do not know how it will be when you arrive, and perhaps you will do something else it is better to clarify and ask this is relevant for your arrival. What kind of work awaits you in general. I liked everything. I'm recommend this place. Mister Bayuo - he worker I help work him. Nice!

We arrived on the dates discussed but the host forgot we were coming. The housing and the work was not as agreed and not the same property that is shown on the worldpackers listing. It was in an empty house with some nice rooms with A/C but our room was dirty, lots of bugs and hot, only a fan. The pool had tadpoles so not swimmable. We tried to contact but there was no communication from the host once we arrived or since, even though we were told by the kind caretaker Bayo, that the host was staying just down the road at the property shown on worldpackers. Overall, we wouldn't recommend.

This is the problem with this worldpackers thing, you offer a 200$ a night house for free and some come with an attitude as if they paid for their staty. I would stay away from them, they are just looking for opportunities for free without really offering anything in return. It shames the other worldpackers that actually come with the desire to experience different things. They complain about a room not beling clean, yet the only thing they supposedly know how to do is to clean. Which does not help that much btw. Stay away from them.

The property I was living in for the 10 days was stunning. Due to low season I was most of the time by my own in the lovely guest house Casa Xcaanda and helped mainly with cleaning and maintenance tasks as well as digital work. Bayo, the guy with whom I worked, is a friendly, respectful person with a helping hand. The host is not present so the communication runs via phone, which makes the communication and the clarity of the tasks not always clear. He just started to take volunteers so some flexibility and general navigation are of advantage. It's a good place if you search time for yourself!

Las horas y labores acordadas se respetaron siempre. Bayo, quien se encarga de las casas, fue muy amable y nos ayudó en todo momento. Nos explicaba con antelación las tareas que teníamos que hacer y aclaraba las dudas.
