The Experience

Hi, A family of 3 are renovating a beautiful house in Provence. 40 mins from idyllic Aix-en-Provence & 2kms from a lovely village with restaurants, boulangeries & supermarkets. The accommodation is a lovely peaceful gite with 2 double ensuite bedrooms. Your own kitchen, private garden & parking. For the summer we are looking for help with the large garden and housekeeping with cookery skills a bonus. We look forward to hearing from you. Amy

I really enjoyed my time here. Amy and Matt were both lovely and friendly. They were great at giving jobs that matched your skills and what you want to be doing. For me that was outside in the gardens. The location is great, a good place to slow down and enjoy life. The town and lake were great to explore and both easily accessible by bike. The wifi got fixed on my last day there so everything is back connected.

The tasks worked very well for me and were very clear, exactly as agreed. Amy and Matt were always very nice and kind to me, and I felt comfortable and very good in the house. The property is truly beautiful, as is the location. The wind even smells like lavander and every day there is a beautiful sunset. There are nice places to go by bike to exploring the town. It's not a place to socialize but rather to enjoy your own company, and that exactly what I was looking for. They were also quite flexible with schedules. The only truly negative point is that Wi-Fi does not work where we stayed.

Thank you Catharina, we very much enjoyed your company.
The new mesh router network arrived today and so there will be no problems for your next visit.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to slow down and have time to enjoy a locals only experience in the area. They did a great job at giving you jobs to match what you want to do and your skill set. The family home is disconnected from where the Worldpackers stay so there is plenty of privacy. The WiFi never worked when I was there but when that is fixed all around this is a great break from the hustle of most trips.

Quiet and peaceful is what better describes the place. I was on my own doing all of my duties and that gave the chance to do it rapidly to go enjoying a little more of Aix and Cote D'azur. There's everything you need at home and if something is missing they provide it inmediately. It is a very comfortable place where you can relax when work is done. There's lakes and river close by to enjoy even more. You are provided with bikes so you can go easily to town to get your stuff same as to go to the lakes.

The experience was good for me because I was looking for a quiet place and I like to be by my own. I would not recommend if you're expecting to socialize with people. The house is not so close to the center but they provide bikes, what makes the shopping easier… it's about 15 min by bike. Amy picked me up and brought me back to the train station, she was really nice! The place is amazing with beautiful sunsets everyday. Basically they need help with the house. The tasks were clear and easy for me.
