The Experience

We are looking for help at our ostrich farm and petting zoo near Varna, Bulgaria. The work is feeding and caring for the animals, collecting and washing eggs, some work around the garden; cutting grass and maintaining the veggie parch. Plus some maintenance and cleaning around the farm. Our farm is in a beautiful green valley at the back of a village a short bus ride from Varna.

Both my friend and I thought the farm was an incredibly fun and fulfilling experience, excellent for any animal lovers out there as this place sure does have a lot of them. Gail, our host, was also fantastic, being both a joy to be around and always ensuring our needs were sufficiently met. Being a 30 minute bus ride from the neighbouring big city Varma (beach!) you really can't go wrong with this place. One thing to note is the potential for isolation; if there are no other volunteers and Gail is away then it could be quite lonely - but if you don't mind that then it is perfect!
