The time I spent volunteering at this project was so perfect. I felt so centred and peaceful afterwards. The work was fun and rewarding, the food was delicious and the people were wonderful. Erica gives so much and is so welcoming and sensitive. Days we weren't working she would take around to see the sights nearby , introducing us to people and letting us sleep in her home. Beautiful time.

I spent two weeks at Project the community and it was an amazing experience. From the first day on, it felt like being part of a family. My partner and I had a unfortunate experience where we were assured certain facilities would be available and they weren't. We are also supposed to work 5 hours a day and myself, my partner and another volunteer were forced to work 12 hours in a day. Beyond this Erica showed little to no remorse until she was confronted about the despicable position she'd put us in. She also risked our lives by putting us in the back of her truck as there was “no space” inside and then proceeded to drive roughly over bumps in the work which made us almost fall out of the car. There is very little leadership.

This is a good learning experience in agroecological farming, especially for people who may be beginning their journey of understanding in the principles of permaculture and agroforestry. Erica welcomed us with a very open and caring energy, is very intentional in treating everyone with respect, with clear communication, and has genuine care for the wellbeing and happiness of volunteers and people in general. It was really wonderful to learn about the important community work she does with the movement of small farmers and be a part of it a few times during our stay! Many beautiful memories :)
