I stayed at the home with my sister for 2 weeks and I will definitely return again some day! Brenda and James are exceptional hosts with tons of valuable knowledge about the home National Park, local culture, and living harmoniously with the jungle. the home National Park is a wonderful place to explore. However, it is extremely remote and there is almost nothing in town other than the park and a few cafes. The guesthouse is situated at the edge of town and there are cafes and a supermarket close by. If you enjoy rivers, caves, and hiking and don't mind being disconnected, I highly recommend it!

This was a good experience for my first time volunteering! The listing describes the work as mostly gardening, there was no garden at the long house so the work was more of a DIY/improvement type. It was as many hours as expected though. The town of the home is remote and this makes for an authentic cultural experience. However this also means that activities can be limited. The area is beautiful and lush. The listing does have a couple errors; the map location isn't correct, there is no WiFi in the house, and the hiking isn't free but there is a good discount. Overall we loved Brenda and James!
