The experience

Every day, all year, we harvest food from the garden, which is served to retreat and course guests and volunteers.

We make wine and other fermented, healthy drinks such as kombucha and kefir! We make jam, chilli sauces, and fermented foods from our products every week. We also dry herbs for cooking and making tea blends.

We are looking for a chef and assistant chef who wants to gain experience running a farm-to-table kitchen.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.


What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Intermediate Portuguese or Fluent English

Over 20 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

- We have groups of 5 volunteers who usually stay for 1-3 months.
- Each month, we have a two-week permaculture course.
- For those two weeks, you will cook a one-pot wonder for lunch and dinner for between 10 and 26 people
- All food is from our garden
- Outside of the 2 weeks you will cook on rotation and help in the garden, or if you prefer cook for all the volunteers every day
