Oat was a welcoming and helpful host. I'm very grateful for the meals and accommodation he provided for me during this trip. His son Asia is an energetic and polite child who can communicate very well in English and knows some basic Chinese. The work was very fun thanks to the home planning - he made sure that we had a variety of activities to do, including a scavenger hunt, picking fruits, and indoor playground. Volunteers have free time every afternoon and on the weekends, so I was able to meet some lovely locals in Chumphon and Koh Tao during the stay. Thank you so much!

Oat has been a wonderful host. The time spent together with Oat and Asia rather felt like spending time with friends than working. I had the chance to take part in a buddhist ceremony at his aunts house and this has been an incredible experience for me. Oat is a reflected and patient father to Asia, a lovely and lively boy already very proficient in English. The house I stayed in was more than generous. Thank you very much for the past week!

I felt very welcomed by Oat, him and his family were very kind and accommodating of my arrival and stay. We did a lot of activities around and it left me a lot of personal time to explore and so my own things. The place I was staying at was very big and clean. This was my first volunteering experience with Worldpackers and I recommend it to anyone who likes to be immersed in the local Thai culture and exchange life and language experience. I really enjoyed my stay at Chumpon. Krub Kun Ka Oat and Asia! Wishing you all the best, take care 🤗

I spent a week with Oat and Asia and had an incredible experience! Oat was a fantastic host—warm, welcoming, and instantly made me feel at home. He really went above and beyond to help me during my stay there. The “work” really wasn't work at all. Just going to different places and doing various activities together, basically just helping to create an English speaking environment for Asia. I learned so much about Thai culture through this exchange, and it was fascinating to experience Thailand from a local perspective rather than the usual tourist approach.

This was a great work exchange to experience local life in a small town in Thailand. Asia is a cute little boy with a lot of energy and Oat was very accommodating, cooking breakfast for me everyday and giving tips of what to see in Chumphon. I would work 5-6 hours in the morning and have the afternoons free to myself. The role is simple - mainly playing with Asia and speaking to him in English, rather than set language lessons. Some of the activities we did during working hours included visiting arcades, picking fruit in the home garden, cooking waffles and visiting the beach.
