The Experience

Hi! We have a 5ha block where the living is easy and quiet. You will need your own transport to come stay. We are keen to have people come to stay in return for whatever needs doing on our farmlet. It might be harvesting hazelnuts, weeding, planting, or pruning olive trees depending on the time of the year. There are two of us here, with one cat, and alpacas. You have your own room with a queensize bed, but the bathroom in the house is shared.

I felt very welcome and the room and the house is cozy. I did a lot of small tasks in and around the house which might not be the most interesting but like everywhere - just need to be done. I could clearly feel that Teena and Noel were appreciating me for completing them. They made sure I could do tasks inside when it was raining. The food they cook is very delicious! It was also really interesting to learn about the black garlic and to feel their motivation and passion regarding the products! Be prepared for good conversations, fun, board games and weird movies ;) i would def. do it again!!

Teena is so lovely and brought us along to local community events like the market and pickleball :) In the evenings we would play Wingspan and watch movies. The work was what was expected and very fair. The alpacas are also so funny and sweet! My partner and I had a lovely time and would recommend to anyone.

Teena and Noel were the best hosts. They really made you feel apart of their family and home. The work was as said and fair and in return you had lovely food and a great place to stay. They included you in watching films, playing games and taking you to local events which was so much fun. The alpacas are the cutest and so was Mabel the cat! It's a great experience and can't recommend them enough.

What an experience. Teena and Noel are the best. I had such an amazing week here. They are both so welcoming and friendly. From learning about black garlic to wood cutting you will definitely come away knowing more. The house is beautiful with a very comfortable bed, everything is as stated. Teena and Noel have a lot of knowledge not only about NZ and where to go but also about the rest of the world. Sunday family games day was best. I would recommend this experience to anyone, I had made memories that will last with me forever ❤️
