The Experience

Hello! We are a small family of one adult and 2 children, and 3 dogs!! We require assistance with some building and painting projects, house and garden maintenance and cooking (5 hrs per day). This is in return for free private room accommodation, access to 3 meals and wifi. 10 mins drive to waterfalls, beaches and 15 minutes to the city center. NB We accept arrivals most times before 7pm 😊

I had a great time with Rachael and her family. The area is great, close to the bus stop that takes you into the city of Cairns. The work wasn't physically demanding, but the heat definitely made it harder. In terms of provided food it was lacking. Many times myself and my partner were eating in restaurants in town (which are very good) and as budget travelers it should have been an unnecessary cost, but it became a necessity. When Rachael provided dinners it was delicious, but for breakfast and lunch it was up to us to fend for ourselves. Overall great experience, I do recommend Rachael!

Rachaels was a great experience overall. She's incredibly kind, accommodating, and creates a warm, welcoming environment. The location is safe and close to the bus stop. The work was light, around three hours a day, flexible, and left plenty of time to explore. However, the only challenges were with the kitchen and food supply. The kitchen often needed cleaning, and food was limited which made it hard to eat proper meals. We ended up eating out more often than anticipated because the kitchen wasn't very appetizing to use. Overall, Rachael and her family were lovely to be around!

I had a great time at Rachael's! She and the kids were lovely and I felt welcomed, even though I was on my own for a lot of the time. She and I worked out a schedule were I had a lot of time to explore the area, which I greatly appreciated. The work wasn't too hard, and my time was always respected. I would recommend this experience!

Rachael is an amazing person! She's very kind, and her family is wonderful! I had a beautiful experience and I'm really grateful for the opportunity. The house is very nice and has everything you need; the neighborhood is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and the bus stop is very close. I learned a lot and had a great week in Cairns! The experience was really nice, Rachael it's so kind. The house is not so close to the city, 10 km away but she have a bicycle and it's also the public bus. Everything that you need!
