My experience at the home de magui place was not what I expected. The listing mentioned reliable internet access, but that wasn't the case, and I was left without communication with my family during my stay. Additionally, there was no private bathroom with a lockable door, and the house where the volunteers stayed had no ventilation at all—it was extremely hot and there were no fans available. These conditions didn't align with the kind of environment I look for to live and work in, so I decided to leave earlier than planned. Unfortunately, it wasn't a positive experience for me.

Unfortunately, we can't rate this experience highly due to poor communication about roles and living arrangements, which led us to leave early. Our agreed pickup in Senigallia was cancelled last minute, so we waited 2 hours for a train to marotta instead —something solo travellers should note. We slept in an unlockable shed space shared with another volunteer, which doesn't match the photo. Most work involved cleaning the mess in the house and was unscheduled, making it hard to plan time off. This type of experience may suit others, but didn't work for us. We left after 5 days as the experience didn't match the listing. The bathroom was shared with everyone in the area and had no lock, which made us uncomfortable. There was no drinkable water on arrival. Work hours weren't clearly communicated, and we had to wash everyone's dishes —taking nearly 2 hours between the 2 of us—outside of our agreed work hours. We also had to keep asking about days off. An event they called a “ceremony” was held outside our unlocked room, which was to last all night and morning. This unlisted event made us feel unsafe and led to our early departure.

I've stayed here for a bit less than a week and would have liked to stay longer. Everyone was super nice, and the nearby places are lovely, though unfortunately, I didn't have time to see much. They have a wonderful family and community, definitely a place for open-minded volunteers.

Andrea and Maggie are caring, warm and lovely people, and their entire community made me feel included and welcomed. They live in a beautiful spacious country home with lots of plants, a garden and chickens! The energy is tranquil and lively. Jasper is the sweetest baby and he's a pleasure to care for, and their upstairs neighbor Danielle could not have been kinder or more helpful. This was a very special experience. I learned so much and made incredible memories that I won't ever forget.
