PROJECT IN THE VILLAGE: - Qualifications: native English speaker, teaching certificate/experience preferred - Duties: teaching English in small groups, plus a light load of cleaning at the apartment (it's a small one, don't worry!) - Hours: 10 hours a week, mostly late in the afternoon until the evening so that you can have plenty of time during the day - Perks: private room in a shared apartment with the host

Vũ is very nice and found me a really amazing project. I didn't stay at the English Centre in Tan Son, Phan Rang. I went to a school in Pleiku, Gia Lai. The project was amazing: Everyone is so nice and friendly, from the students to the staff. I taught English in kindergarten, but also supported middle and high school students with their studies. Shared a lot of nice moments with those students. The food is simply amazing. We visited a lot of really nice places, with the nuns, which manage the school. Everything was perfect. We signed up to volunteer at the host's school in Phan Rang but were instead sent to a summer camp in Ho Chi Minh City. While we went with an open mind, the experience was poorly organised. The host saw us only twice in a month, and communication about our role was minimal. Accommodation was unstable, we moved from hotel to a classroom at the school, and the food allowance often arrived late. The school staff were kind and supportive, but the host's lack of planning left us in a difficult position. Overall needs clearer expectations and better coordination.

I loved my experience with Vu andthe school. After my experience here I feel it went by too quickly and I will miss Phan Rang very much-especially Vu! I feel I have found a true friend in him and hope to see him again some day soon! Vu was a very welcoming guest, we often enjoyed each other's company over dinner or visiting local attractions. The private space is very nice and he makes sure to be very accommodating. Working atthe school was so incredible! I got to gain insightful experience to help me with teaching the schoolin the future. The kids are very smart and I will miss them too! ❤️
