The Experience

I run an agritourism in a beautiful place 15 km from Cefalù in the Madonie Park,in Sicily. We need help with carpentry work, masonry, gardening, horticulture, permaculture, making signposts for the trails in the ancient oak forest, caring for the animals and sometimes serving breakfasts and cleaning common spaces. Ours is also a literary agritourism (with library) and an educational farm.

Great place if you are wanting to get out of the hustle and bustle and enjoy some nature. The accomodation was really nice and the location was beautiful with lots of animals and walking tracks nearby. Would definitely recommend for a calm and refreshing stay :)

I had a great time at the farm. The surroundings are beautiful, the people very friendly, I felt welcome and appreciated. It's a little Paradise in the Sicilian Mountains. Would definitely recommen.

The farm is beautiful and quiet. We visited Cefalu and the beach on our days off. Ninni was wonderful, fun and an excellent manager. The work was straightforward and we especially loved getting to know the other volunteers. Unfortunately Leonora doesn't really show appreciation for the work completed and her priorities are confusing. The kitchen was dirty and the cat (Partufé) was allowed to run through it while we were eating. The volunteers were expected to cook for her and everyone else outside of work hours. We constantly felt on edge because she always seemed to be upset about something

Leonora replied

Laura, I was working 12 hours a day online to pay food for all the volunteers. I find your feedback really disrispectful. I didn't have time to cook but I certainly didn't expect anyone to cook for me! Never! I could have been satisfied making my own sandwich or salad. I am deeply sad about all your lies. And you didn't leave one dish in the sink, you left a mess every day. The kitchen was supposed to be cleaned by volunteers. It was a required task. Very sad about your lies

The farm is a beautiful place. Ninni, the one who managed the team most of the time, is a wonderful man. Work was not as expected, for the most part, as I spent the first couple weeks of my time working in the restaurant as a waiter and dishwasher. However, we got lucky and it was more fun than stressful. I thoroughly enjoyed my free time exploring the farm and surrounding area. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill as soon as the host, Leonora, was present more often. She is unable to take responsibility for anything and expects us to run the place with minimal guidance

My time at the farm was lovely. The property is beautiful and well-suited for getting in touch with nature. The team and other volunteers are what made the experience though. Thank you Nini, Antonio, and Margue! I had the best time.
