The Experience

We are a family of 3 (Me, my fiancé and my mum) running a hostel in Ohrid. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment for travelers from all over the world and make their stay in Ohrid unforgettable. It's not a type of hostel that is ran and managed only by volunteers. We are working hard for the guests and focusing a lot for creating off site & on site activities. So basically we will be a team and splitting the daily responsibilities.

Volunteering at the hostel was an unforgettable experience. My girlfriend and I stayed for over three weeks and felt like family from day one. This was our first volunteering experience and we couldn't have been more grateful for it. We stayed as a couple for 3 weeks and the final goodbye was tough, as we definitely would've stayed for 3 months if time allowed it. Filip and Winnie are fantastic and the most down to earth hosts. The workload was reasonable and hours were flexible. You quickly develop a routine. It truly is a family vibe from the moment you step through those green gates. We've made a second home in the hostel, and lifelong friends. We enjoyed sharing stories, food, drinks, and good vibes.

My first experience volunteering at a hostel and it couldn't be better! Winnie and Filip are both amazing hosts, I felt at home the second I arrived. The tasks are very easy and work load is small especially at the beginning of the season, so you will have plenty of time to explore the beauty of Ohrid. I made so many friends, either it was locals or international travelers I met. It's an amazing place with chill vibes, parties, bbqs and game nights. I 1000% recommend visiting and I will definitely be coming back soon!

This is an amazing hostel and I had a great time volunteering with my partner :) Filip and Winnie are awesome hosts and make you feel super welcome and will make sure you have a great time as well. Work expectations are reasonable and are often shared between volunteers so there is so much time for discovering the town, beach etc. Filip and Winnie always try to make things work if you want to do something eg. days off to visit family or help arrange activities like paddle boarding, paragliding, finding contacts etc The vibe is great, so many cool guests and friends, 100% recommend :)
