The Experience

We are a young, welcoming family living on a small sheep farm in peaceful rural South West France. I’m 28, mom of lively twins who are almost 2 years old, my partner works shifts in local factory. We’d love to welcome a kind, caring person who enjoys spending time with children to help us watch the little ones while we work. In return, you’ll get to experience family life on a traditional farm and enjoy the calm of the French countryside.

The host ended the stay earlier without explanation. I planned on being there for 2 months. After 2 weeks the host told me I had to leave immediately. Before they gave no indication that they don't want me to stay there for the whole time or that there were any concerns. The explanation was that the children are too young to be with a stranger. They told me I didn't do anything wrong. The hosts didn't apologize, the way they communicated this was unempathic, incomprehensible and rude. I do not recommend anyone to visit this farm as the hosts are irresponsible, unpredictable and not trustworthy

It is true that we told you we wouldn’t keep you for the two months as planned because we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the babies with a stranger after all. But we offered you to stay for free until your friend leaves and even to drive you around so you could make the most out of the few days left to visit France a little.
We brought you to the train station, we paid for your tickets, so I think we have been correct with you.
At your departure you didn’t even bother saying goodbye to the babies, that just showed that you didn’t have any bond with them and comforted us in our decision. Additionally you didn’t show much initiative, you for sure didn’t work too much and also don’t seem to have much experience with babies (that young) despite what you told us in the first place. We wanted to tell you in the best way possible for all parties involved but you and your friend immediately took it as a personal offense.
Ps : we also accepted that your friend came to join you which we wouldn’t have been obliged to. I think we handled (or at least we tried in the beginning) to handle the whole story as adults but you two definitely didn’t.
