The experience

Come join our family farm business overlooking Loch Ness surrounded by our Hairy Highland cows. We are a family run Bed and Breakfast with Tearoom and Highland cow meet and greet. The tasks here will include serving customers, interacting with the farm animals and kitchen duties, deep cleans, painting decorating, cooking meals for staff.

We are flexible if you would prefer a longer or shorter stay and also if you would like more hours.

What you offer

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

Within volunteering hours you will help clean and tidy the tearoom and kitchen. Then either carry on helping in kitchen/tearoom Throughout your shift you will also be interacting with our highlands cows and introducing them to customers. You will work 6 hours 5 days a week. Outwith volunteering hours you will make dinner at least one night a week for everyone with the menu and ingredients provided. You will be expected to keep your living areas clean and tidy.
In winter months the tasks may vary and might involve deep cleaning and painting and decorating.
It is a hospitality business so tasks will be general hospitality like doing dishes serving and preparing food and drinks. Barista experience would be fantastic.

Activities & Shift

Hours will be 6 hours per day and shift start times will be varied. You will not work later than 6pm and never earlier than 7.30am.

Rules

The kitchen that you will be using is the commercial kitchen so it must be kept clean and tidy at all times. Especially after you have made the staff meals it must be cleaned to a high standard at all times.
We have a young family so it’s not a party house. You will be living in close quarters so must be respectful of each other.
