The Experience
Teach English at one of our partner language centers or schools in Hanoi, Vietnam, and make a positive social impact on the lives of children! We partner with English centers that provide English classes in a country where English education is increasingly important yet prohibitively expensive. We provide volunteers with accommodation, 2 meals a day, airport pickup and a pre-departure workshop.

Not my type of volunteering. I flew all the way to Hanoi to discover that C4C did not communicate all the details of my role correctly. I'm leaving 3 stars because my host was super welcoming and truly lovely, she accepted my decision to leave earlier with empathy and understanding. I hope C4C will be more clear in their communication with the future volunteers.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your candid feedback after your volunteering experience with us recently. I appreciate you traveling all the way to Vietnam and that your host made efforts to welcome you during your stay in Hanoi.
I sincerely apologize for any misleading communication about the volunteer assignment details from our organization that prompted you to leave earlier than planned. After reviewing our documents, I could not find anywhere that we specified the teaching would be for poor children in Hanoi. However, effective communication is paramount, so I want to better understand where the discrepancy lies to improve the clarity of our program information moving forward.
My understanding is that our team sent you the full organization profile and role details over email, and also attempted to schedule an interview prior to your arrival to discuss any open questions. Unfortunately, it seems we did not receive a response, so may have missed a chance to prevent misaligned expectations. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how we can more effectively relay volunteer tasks and locations to avoid confusion for future participants.
Catalyst for Change remains committed to enriching the lives of those in need throughout Vietnam. We will be more diligent about confirming all program information is clearly conveyed going forward before volunteers commit their time.
