The Experience

We run a guesthouse near Reykjavík and need someone with real maintenance and carpentry experience. Tasks include woodwork, painting, cement work, and general repairs. This role is for skilled, proactive, and independent problem-solvers who can work with tools confidently. You’ll help keep the house in good condition while staying in a cozy environment and meeting guests from around the world. We look forward to your application :-)

My time in the guest house was amazing! The tasks were easy and the other intern (Roza) was a great teammate. Aneta and Virna were awesome supervisors and we talked every day with them about the work and also about our day in general. They gave you freedom to make yourself feel at home as long as you were responsible. I had to leave a bit earlier for a job opportunity, but Zeno and the team were super understanding and supportive. In winter time you had auroras just in the backyard every week! 10/10, would recommend and would love to come back

I loved working at the guest house. The location is great with the sea and mountains visible from the house. Central Reykjavik is just a short bus journey away. The work days can be long and the supervisors are not on site, so communication can be difficult at time. But I'd definitely recommend this experience for anyone looking to connect with people around the world and experience Iceland like a local.

I had an amazing volunteering experience! It was not always easy because work in hospitality is challenging, but I learned a lot and had a lot of responsibility which I liked! This volunteering is for people who love to serve other people and help the project grow, who love to communicate, organize and manage!
