The Experience

Our farm guesthouse is located on the outskirts of a small Karoo (semi-desert) town in South Africa. Volunteers can engage in diverse tasks based on their skills, including repairs, vehicle restoration, building accommodation units, enhancing our social media, cooking, and field-research assistance. Daytime help is expected, with private accommodation provided. Be aware, the area lacks restaurants and clubs, and we maintain a quiet environment.

Hei. I was there for 2 1/2 weeks in March 2024 and can highly recommend it. A wonderful, warm-hearted family who take care of everything. You get fantastic food, have your own bathroom and bedroom, bed is mega cosy. The farm is in a lovely quiet place and it is so peaceful there. In the morning and during the day you are woken up by the piano of one son, so lovely. (Max 😊🙌) There is really a lot to do on the farm, especially a lot of renovation in the craft. I have redesigned the gardens and done some creative work. So you have to go there, highly recommended. ❤️

I had a wonderful time at the lodge! My task was to get their old Bedford truck running and we were able to complete that task by the end of my stay. I also helped Freyni with different projects for the guesthouse and was always involved in whatever was happening in their home. They made sure I was able to experience some of the local towns, attractions, and national parks to have a full and fulfilling experience in South Africa. The whole family is incredibly kind and welcoming and I can't wait to see them again :)
