The Experience

We are a venetian family of five people. I’m an engineer and my wife is a gynaecologist. We have three children: one boy and two girls. Nicolò is 15 years hold, Anna and Ginevra have 13 and 11 years. Calvenzano is a small and quite village but is very close to Treviglio that is a nice city. Furthermore, Milan and Bergamo are just at 30 minutes from Treviglio by train.

The home and his family were incredibly welcoming. The children were kind, friendly, and full of energy, making the stay even more enjoyable. I had a truly wonderful experience with them. The area itself is beautiful, surrounded by greenery and nature, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It's a very quiet place, perfect for those seeking tranquility. However, it can also feel a bit dull at times if you're looking for more activities or excitement. Overall, I had a great time with my family, and I would recommend it to those who appreciate peace and nature.

The Casole family is very loving. The children are kind and friendly. Fede and the home are generous and understanding people, always willing to help me improve my Italian, which I truly appreciate. I had a wonderful experience with them; they made me feel like part of the family. The tasks are very simple. The only thing I would mention is that the work schedule is not clearly defined, as it requires being available for many hours a day.

I had a lovely time with the home and his family. They all made me feel welcomed and at home. The kids are kind, curious, and respectful, and Federica and the home are warm, wonderful people. I felt as though my time was respected, and I learned a great deal from my experience. The kids are generally very eager to speak in English, and were also able to correct my Italian. Calvenzano is a nice quiet commune, and the town of Treviglio and many shops are easily accessible by car or bike. Definitely recommend staying with the home and his family!

The home and his family were very welcoming 🙂 all though I felt after arriving that in our phone call he did not give enough details and information about the tasks I would be completing. There where not set hours but more so certain jobs I had. Lots and lots of driving so if you like to drive this may be for you! It was roughly 3-5 hours of driving depending on the day. Early mornings (6am) and late nights (not getting to bed until 11) that just weren't a fit for me. I am still grateful for the experience but I would not recommend this Worldpackers volunteer option.

La familia Casole se portó muy bien conmigo, me hicieron sentir como si fuera una más. Estoy muy agradecida de haber realizado mi primer voluntariado con ellos. Les deseo lo mejor!!!
