The Experience

We are looking for a few volunteers who can help us out a few hours a day in our garden and with support in our house with little projects like painting touch-ups. The volunteers will stay in the hostel next door in a small dorm room free of charge. There is plenty of opportunity to meet travelers at the hostel and to use the hostel's facilities, including a beautiful park, kitchen, and fast internet.

I'd repeat this experience without hesitation. Eleonora and Mike were lovely, friendly and relaxed hosts. They've a beautiful energy. The hostel is very well equipped. The place is beautiful, very well connected with a bus to Ascona and Locarno right at the door. You can make many different routes and they all leave you hallucinating with the views. The tasks were at the level of our knowledge and skills. And the agreed hours and the days off were always respected. Everything was perfect :)

Mike is an incredible host! Made us feel comfortable since the arrival. Regarding the place, you can say it has been designed with love and an eye on every detail. The views and surrounding villages are breath-taking! The tasks were completely feasible, and Mike was really flexible with the work hours. It is a pity we had to leave earlier because of a family issue, It would have been amazing getting to enjoy the whole experience.

We enjoyed our stay in Auressio very much. We appreciated that you only need to work 10hrs per week. The work involved mostly taking care of their baby, moving furniture and helping with some little tasks around the house. Mike and Eleonora are very helpful, always explained everything clearly and are open to adjusting working hours as needed. The whole valley is full of hiking trails and beautiful nature, the people there are friendly and welcoming. A big thank you to Mike and Eleonora for hosting us, we definitely recommend!

I had an amazing volunteering experience the home Edera. The place itself was absolutely beautiful — surrounded by stunning nature, with plenty of hiking trails nearby for those who love the outdoors. If hiking isn't your thing, you can simply relax at the villa and enjoy the garden, which is truly a peaceful place. The working hours were respected, and most of the time they were flexible, which made balancing work and free time easy. Mike, our host, treated us very well and made sure we felt comfortable and supported throughout our stay. Thank you for having us!
