The Experience

We are engaged in agriculture in the countryside. In addition to farming, we just started a hostel for travelers. So we are looking for someone to help us with the agricultural work and help for hostel. Although it's a rural area in Yamanashi Prefecture without many shops around, it offers a beautiful landscape where you can enjoy a clear view of Mount Fuji.

I stayed for 1 week and had a great experience. Miyuki, Katchan, and Baba were very kind, and as the only volunteer I had a private room with a view of Mt. Fuji. The farm work was 3–4 hours a day, physically engaging but manageable. The food was delicious, and I could use a bike to reach the station on my day off. They also picked me up when I arrived and took me back when I left. Highly recommended!

I have no words to explain how lovely and kind the farm family was with me! Miyuki, Katchan and Baba are the sweetest humans on earth! If you love nature, farming work, japanese food and slow-life rhythm, this is your place! I felt like another family member... and for god sake how tasty is Miyuki's food! (also Katchan and Baba are great chefs! Work is also fair, never did more than 3 hours.. and I practiced a lot of japanese! Please explore around cause there's so much nature. Highly recommended. Thank you again, I will come back <3

Staying here felt literally like home. Miyuki, Katchan and Baba are incredibly sweet, they provide for everything and are always there for you. The food is delicious, I ate so much. The work is super fair, maximum 4h per day, usually 8-12 and they explain to you everything and are always there to help. They brought me to some nights out with their friends, to the supermarket, like I was part of the family. The accomodation is great, I even had a fridge in my room, and a balcony with an astonishing view on Mt Fuji. I can't recommend enough to stay here, they deserve all the best!!!

Volunteering in tamamyia guest house was a truly amazing experience. We worked on the fields. The work was fair, rewarding and not too hard. The accommodation was fantastic, we got our own room upstairs, had a kitchen to cook in, and an outside area we could smoke and chill in. We got homemade lunch and dinner every day, having homemade Japanese food every day was a luxury we did not expect to have. We also got bikes if we wanted to go down the hill to 7/11 or anything else in the city. The area is beyond beautiful, waking up every morning to the view of the mountains and farms was so amazing.
