The Experience

Come help out on our gorgeous property & have your own room or self contained one bedroom apartment to live in! We are looking for some building help around our rural property on the edge of Auckland. Our next project is building a retaining fence. We're open to host an individual or couple. We live on a two hectare property only 30 minutes from the centre of Auckland city central in New Zealand. Available immediately & through summer.

My husband and I we had a great time! Grace and Johan are very helpful and friendly people. They offered to give us rides to the city and on weekends invited us for BBQs (Best lamb I've ever had). They were always available for questions and trusted us with the worktasks. They provide you a lovely apartment were you have all the privacy you need. They have a wonderful baby and a lovely dog which instantly make you smile. I would totally recommend this volunteering to everyone who wants to have a great experience.

Grace and Johan were outstanding hosts in every regard. They went above and beyond in helping us with our travel related tasks like buying a campervan. We felt welcomed and confortable at any time. The quality of the accommodation is extraordinary as well. In addition to that, there is an absolutely lovely Baby and a beautiful dog. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful time volunteering with Grace, Johan and the Tiny Human. They were kind and compassionate every step of the way and communicated clearly. I got injured while I was there and they were very flexible and helpful. They catered the work to what I was able to do/what I excel at and that was great! I even came back for another 10 days at the end of my trip. Oh and Grace taught me to surf! I'm nonbinary and they Immediately worked on using my correct pronouns. AND every other Worldpacker who came in the first 5 weeks I stayed was also queer so it is definitely a safe space.

Grace & Yohan couldn't have been more welcoming! They made me feel comfortable and at home, right away. We took trips into town, to the beach and enjoyed relaxing days at the house. When I wanted to explore on my own, Grace & Yohan were beyond helpful with figuring out where I should go, what I should do and how best to get there. Their property is lovely and there is such a variety of work to do. Anyone would be able to find something they enjoy. I cannot recommend their home stay more. I only wish I'd booked to stay longer!

We felt very confortable since day one. Grace and Johan are really good people and they will make you feel as part of the family. The studio is very nice and gave us the privacy we needed. Alhough some of the tasks were hard work, we would balanced it with some surf classes or just lay at the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here and recommend to any worldpacker.
