I loved my time here and I'll never forget it. The food was so delicious and healthy, and all of the sunims were so helpful and kind! The combination of the Center practice and mountain scenery, working in nature and waking up with the sun is a healing experience that leaves you feeling happier and more grounded. I was great to try a new routine different from the cities and better for my health, and I wish to return someday! ^^

Like the morning sun rising over the mountains, Robin is full of light and warmth.
She is a positive, diligent, energetic, and wise young woman.
Working with her was a joy — her uplifting and radiant spirit gently warmed both the land and our hearts, just like the soft rays of the morning sun.

I loved my stay at the centre. Our arrival was expected and we were assisted with directions and information re busses. We were given a lift from the bus stop which was most appreciated because it had been snowing and was very cold. We were warmly welcomed and orientated. I was privileged to be part of their community for 11 days. I enjoyed meeting other volunteers and working together. I would love to go back and am going to encourage others to be a volunteer in this amazing place. Comfortable accommodation and delicious food and a very caring group.

Susan and I loved being volunteers at the Center. The volunteer experience was so well organised. The communication before our arrival was excellent. On arrival you have a welcome meeting where everything is explained. The meals were wonderful, the Sunims were all very respectful and wonderful to work with. They were very helpful and very keen to teach us and make our stay a memorable one. Which it really was! The other highlight was learning the helpful technique of the Center. We also met such wonderful volunteers from around the world. Thanks to all who made this a very special experience.

Eddie has a truly remarkable sense of empathy—he listens deeply, understands others with compassion, and responds with kindness. He carries himself with a calm and steady presence. No matter what kind of task he was given—big or small, simple or challenging—he approached it with care, dedication, and a quiet sense of responsibility. We always felt we could trust him completely, and his presence gave us real peace of mind.

My experience at Buddha forest was a special one. I want to thank all the sunims for their patience and guidance. It wasn't all easy but I had the opportunity to discover new parts of myself and challenge myself in only two weeks. I found the work to often be the largest part of a volunteer's days. If this volunteership interests you, I'd personally recommend it most to people who have prior experience with the Center, as I think they would get most out of their stay. The accommodations were very nice, and the food was delicious and healthy. What a beautiful place filled with kind souls.

Living in the Monastery was an amazing experience. The location is perfect for connecting with nature, the Center hiking. The work with the Sunims was not difficult. I did gardening, farming, cleaning, washing, and painting. The food is amazing and friendly with vegetarians. I learned so much about volunteers, sunims and local people. If you want to live and practice the Center, you really want to go there.

The time that I spent here was precious and well needed for me. People here can really turn off their busy life for the time being and just learn and enjoy the lifestyle, the nature, the work and food and the mindfullness. I would come back anytime without question, I appreciate the 3 weeks that I spent here. The seunims were the best.

My time at the Buddha Forest Templestay was incredible. The staff were very patient, kind, giving, and thoughtful to volunteers. I felt valued as both a volunteer and human being. The day to day responsibilities varied, which for someone who embraces change, kept you on your toes in the best kind of way. With the myriad tasks of farming/landscaping, housekeeping, or kitchen prep ensured that there was never a dull moment. Lodging accommodations are also very generous with private rooms and very clean facilities. I would always recommend opportunities here, and wish I could have stayed longer!

I enjoyed my stay in the Center. All of the monks are very welcoming and kind. The place is remote, which gives the better opportunity to relax and calm down. It's 30~40 minutes to a bus stop (by walking) that takes you to the city (40 minutes). The food was delicious, and hours of work were respected. Many international and Korean volunteers. Sometimes the work can be a bit repetitive and tiring, but I felt it helped me to be more present in the moment. The surroundings are beautiful.
