The Experience

The position is for female volunteers looking for a break from the usual and step into the world of a busy baker and market trader. I am looking for volunteers with baking/cooking experience, who likes to go with me to markets and help me keep the house in order. I have between 1 to max 3 markets per week in different locations. It needs preparation and organisation and as I work full time I need someone who sees what needs to be done soon.

I had a relaxing 2 weeks in Aultbea. It was an amazing homestay experience! Beatrice, the host, is very kind! Half of the time she is working, so you'll be home alone with 2 cats. When Beatrice was free she sometimes took time to drive me around to show me the surrounding areas, which I really appreciated! We sometimes participated in local activities too, which were fun! The job was simply to clean and organise the house; it was great that you can take your time and do the job whenever you want. Thanks for having me and always making delicious meals and desserts, Beatrice!

Esta fue mi primera experiencia voluntariando y la verdad es que lo disfruté mucho, aprendí nuevas recetas, atendí clientes y pude practicar mi inglés. Cada día era un desafío nuevo, me sorprendí a mi misma con todo lo que cociné. Bea es una persona con mucho entusiasmo y llena de ideas creativas. Por otro lado, quedarme con ella fue agradable, tuve mi propia habitación con espacio para mis cosas y en la casa había dos gatos hermosos. También, me presentó a sus amigos, quienes fueron siempre muy amables. Algo a mejorar seria el orden de la casa, al hacer la mudanza todo quedó un poco caótic
