You should go to Kuro Mame if you are interested in getting immersed in Japanese countryside daily life and Japanese culture. Fuga is such an amazing human being; he is so sensitive, empathetic, and generous, and he will put so much effort and energy into creating an unforgettable experience in your life. I will always be grateful for having this experience that was invaluable for me. Fuga was also a volunteer, so he deeply knows what our expectations are, and you will get the perfect deal between an easy job, the best company for your stay at Kuro Mame and the best guide to explore Tamba.

This was my first Worldpackers experience and it couldn't have been more amazing! Tamba has such beautiful nature and you can explore the town and surroundings by bike. The work was easy and sometimes even fun ;). Fuga allows you to become creative and is always willing to explain everything in case you have questions. He is a great host, showing you around town and genuinely a really nice person! We enjoyed working and talking with him a lot. I really recommend this experience, especially if you want to go a bit further away from all the big overwhelming cities :)!

Fuga is genuinely one of the people with the most welcoming energy we've ever met. He always tries his best to accommodate everyone, jokes around and is really flexible. He truly values connections and takes you on amazing trips because he wants you to create the best memories (which definitely works). Even work felt like fun that way. We're truly happy and grateful this could be our first Worldpackers experience :). Careful though, we don't think any other place can live up to it, your standard will be high. We will forever cherish this experience and anyone contemplating should 100% go here!

This was my first time volunteering and it was such a wonderful experience. The work is easy but still makes you feel like you're contributing. Tamba is incredibly peaceful itself and with the bikes provided it's easy to explore both the area and make your way to the nearby train station. This and the multiple days off a week allows for a lot of day trips to either Kyoto, Osaka or other nearby towns. Fuga himself is the star of this experience, he's such a down to earth guy with such a wonderful outlook on life I truly couldn't recommend volunteering here more!

I had a lovely time volunteering in the countryside of Tamba! The work was easy to do and always accompanied with great music :) In my small time here the host brought us hiking and visiting a temple so we could explore more around and we have free bike to use which is really nice to bicycle around the rice fields! I'd definitely recommend this experience to anyone who's looking for a getaway in nature:D
