I had a really fun time at kuromame! Fuga is a great host and was always taking us to see amazing temples and sights in the area. It's in a really great location and there's many bikes available to use at any time. It's a super cute house located right next to the river and there's a grocery store only a 15min bike ride away. The job itself was easy and I honestly enjoyed it most days. I really fell in love with this region of Japan and I definitely plan to come back some day. Thankyou for having me:)

I had a wonderful time - Fuga is a wonderful host, and he is kind/hospitable, caring, and inquisitive. He clearly cherishes meeting other travelers, bringing them into the world of rural Hyogo (and Western Japan), and ensuring they have a comfortable and meaningful time as a volunteer. Each working day was a team effort - Fuga and the volunteers worked side-by-side and shared music and often a laugh or two. Fuga is also very generous with his time outside of working hours, as nearly every day he became a local tour guide, bringing us on excursions to beautiful places and sharing his knowledge.

I had a great time staying in Kuro Mame! Fuga is a kind and caring host, always making sure that everyone is happy. Also very eager to share about the Japanese culture. The work is manageable, especially with some good music,everything works easier. If you are looking for a place to slow down and enjoy the natural and the countryside away from crowded tourist spots. That is the place you should visit!

This was my first volunteering experience and it sets the bar so high for future ones ! I had so much fun, met and became friends with other volunteers and got to experience another side of Japan. The work here is pretty chill, Fuga is such a nice and fun host, he takes you on tours and is really understanding in general !! Absolutely loved the experience :)

I can't put in words how amazing, unique and wonderful experience was volunteering at this place. I enjoyed a lot being surrounded by nature but even more the beautiful time we shared with the host Fuga, It was my fifth time volunteering and with no doubt it has been the best by far, he is so welcoming, kind and funny, I highly recommend this place either to go as a volunteer or as a guest is so worth it you will not regret not even a second. Fuga brought us to beautiful tours to see temples, museums and unique places in Japan. I will always be so grateful for such a special time we all have.
