My time at East Seven was some of the best times of my life until the manager Caroline came back. Immediately the workplace became a tense environment walking on eggshells around a manager that has immense mood swings, takes out petty vendettas against the staff and the volunteers, and manipulates the people under her command to effectively be free labour while ruling with an iron fist. I have never felt as uncomfortable or on edge around a figure of authority especially in a workplace, where your home life, social life, and work life are all intertwined. Be careful with this hostel.

this place stands for respect,support, and making sure everyone feels safe. i care about that and always protect it. you didn’t share those values and focused more on drugs than helping,which hurt the team vibe. most people have a great time here because they connect with the community and what we’re about. if that’s not your vibe, that’s fine — but blaming me for doing my job and protecting others isn’t fair. feeling “scared of the manager” is something for you to reflect on,not to throw around

Absolutely loved my time at the hostel. The whole team was super kind and made me feel right at home! Caro was a great manager, very generous and always willing to help me with anything! The work is straight forward and it was great being able to run the social events for the guests! The hostel is nice & cozy, with great facilities - able to cook, do laundry etc. Got to live with some amazing other people volunteering, would 100% recommend!

I had a great time at the hostel. The work is straight forward and hours are very respected. Caroline the manager is very welcoming and inclusive. The other volunteers and staff were amazing and happy to help you with any questions. Berlin is a great city and doing this experience while taking it all in made it very memorable. Recommend 100%

East seven berlin exceeded my expectations on all levels. I was welcomed by everyone and loved every moment during my stay. All the Staff and volunteers were great people that I will never forget. I highly recommend anyone thinking about applying do so because you'll never regret it, I for sure never wanted to leave.

It was the first time volunteering for me and I couldn't have asked for more. I learnt a lot of new skills like interacting with people, problem solving, receptionist, but most important I created lifelong bonds with all the volunteers and workers at the hostel. The team is super friendly and makes you feel home. Also the host Caroline as always been very kind and available with me which I really appreciated. Overall a great experience, totally recommended. ;)

The other volunteers & the receptionist team made me feel super welcomed and comfortable <3 the hostel is surely a special place with amazing people that I will keep in touch with for sure. :) Staff & guests are in general social and easy going, hours are respected and announced in advance so it's simple to plan ahead :) so there are possibilities for travelling x Even though I have been to Berlin quite a few times, living in Prenzlauer Berg was a pretty good experience since it's more quiet and family-oriented but central enough to explore BLN ! Thanks Caro for giving me the opportunity :)

The hostel was an amazing place to work at. Everyone made me feel included right away and it made the work a whole lot easier. The area the hostel is in is extremely safe and allows you to explore and be social. Can't recommend enough!

Really fun atmosphere and caro is a really understanding host! I've enjoyed my time at east 7 so much that I extended lol. Hours are respected and you da range of tasks throughout the week. It's easy to arrange time off to explore other places as well. Great team + great vibes. There's always someone doing something as well so it's easy to go out/make friends <3

I had the most wonderful experience at the hostel. Caroline creates such a beautiful environment and I feel so blessed to be apart of such a wonderful team and I have had the best time I could have ever imagined in Berlin. The friends you make at the hostel will be the friends you have for life, every single person I have met here have been so beautiful and welcoming that you feel at home straight away. Caroline values each and every member of the team so much so that it makes it too hard to leave. I will never forget my time here and hopefully I will come back to do this all again!!!!
