I learned so much about building techniques from Michael—he's incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Michael, Anu, and their lovely family treated every volunteer like one of their own. Anu is hands down one of the best cooks I've ever met—her curries are absolutely amazing! This experience gave me a unique and heartwarming perspective on life in Australia. If you're thinking about coming here, don't hesitate—you won't regret it!

I had a wonderful time staying with Michael and Anu! They made me feel very welcome and part of their family. They are both very kind and generous as well as being fun to be around. Anu's cooking is incredible! Michael is very experienced with construction, welding and DIY projects so I learned a lot from working with him to restore the guest house. We built a steel/merbau fence and a post and rail fence while I was there. I had a great time meeting local people and other backpackers during this project too. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this project!

When I arrived at Michael and Anu's I immediately felt at ease. I had a great time in the guest house and felt integrated into the family and also got to know some friends of the family and other very nice Worldpackers. During my stay we built fences around the Cheesefactory. I can definitely recommend this Worldpackers project to anyone who enjoys manual labour and wants to experience life and lifestyle in rural Australia. Thank you Michael and Anu for a great 5-6 weeks! I look forward to following the process of the Cheesefactory on Facebook until the grand opening.

My stay with Michael & Anu was simply the best and I couldn't ask for any better! I felt like I made the most of my time there and they always made me feel at home. Michael will teach you how to do all the work that needs to be done, and is such a fun character! Work was always manageable. Anu always made sure we had food to eat during and after work, and makes the best food. I was able to spend my days off exploring the countryside with the car available, and always had my days off. I'm definitely coming back and volunteering here is an experience you won't forget in the best way possible!

It was the best experience I've had as a volunteer so far. Michael is a fantastic person, he loves teaching things. In this volunteering experience you'll get to know the daily life of a family and local community. I've been to 10 volunteering experiences and this one was 6 stars. You'll learn carpentry, construction, gardening. You'll do different things practically every day and be guided by him. You'll have a wonderful opportunity for personal growth. Michael and his family were wonderful. I recommend those responsible for Worldpackers to invite Michael to give a course on how to be a host
