Visiting the reserve was one of the best decisions I ever made. The hosts, Diego and Andrea are so knowledgeable and so eager to share their beautiful culture with guests. They are incredibly kind, supportive, and flexible. The location is stunning and remote and all the locals are very kind and welcoming. I felt very safe, very welcome, and I learned so much! If you like to learn about nature, do some sustainable volunteer work, immerse yourself in local culture, or explore a new place, I highly recommend this program. I also recommend going for a longer trip.

This is a very calm and beautiful place for those who like to be in nature. I felt like at home, there was a warm friendly atmosphere. The hosts were friendly and tried to share their experience and knowledge. Volunteering on protecting turtle's nests and cleaning the beach was so amazing. There are such beautiful, wild beaches here, I enjoyed every moment! And of course, there were unforgettable moments when baby turtles hatched and made their journey to the ocean. Thanks to working in the garden, I have gained some insights and useful techniques.

What an extraordinary place this reserve is! Andrea's passion for the reserve is contagious and the conversations with Diego are so interesting. It was my first Worldpackers and I had read that you feel like part of the family when you're there—I can confirm this is absolutely true : delicious meals, kind hosts, and eight loving dogs (special hi to Pelucha!). Days are varied, with activities you'd never do as a traditional tourist, and most importantly, always safe. In just two weeks I experienced so much. An unforgettable adventure, and the hardest goodbye of my travels yet—I'm beyond grateful.

I had an incredible time at the reserve which I will never forget. The landscape and the reserve are breathtaking, the hosts inspiring, the local communities fascinating and my fellow volunteers heartwarming. I was there for only a short time but had so many incredible experiences, seeing the migrating whales, helping clear the beaches of plastic and seeing turtles doing their thing, planting, harvesting and visiting a local school. Andrea and Diego are deeply impressive people with their expertise, commitment, vision and hospitality.

I learned so much from this volunteer experience from both Diego and Andrea. Between Andrea giving us information on the reserve and marine biology and Diego giving us information on local history and agriculture, they are a treasure trove of knowledge. During my time, I was able to learn about the reserve efforts to help the turtles and their nests, see baby sea turtles being rehabilitated, and observe a nesting mother! This area is very safe and calm and in a rural part of Ecuador. The food was also amazing. I highly recommend volunteering here.
