The Experience

The house is an old house, over 200 years old with 3 floors, which has already undergone renovations that I have carried out. In addition to being my home, where I don't even spend much time because I have other projects in Lisbon and the Algarve, it is also inhabited by tenants who have a rented room, so you will stay in a space shared with other people where the common spaces have to always be organized and clean.

This experience has routine but is also varied. The tasks include assisting Paulo in his many different responsibilities. Looking after the shared house in Porto is the main thing but I have also travelled to Lisbon and Algarve with him to help fix up the boats which has been a brilliant opportunity. Cooking, cleaning, helping out with repairs and just generally being good company are the main things to do. I think it says a lot that I chose to stay longer and I would return! I have a lot of memories I will cherish from this time. Please also see my other review :)

This was my first worldpackers experience. I am very pleased with how it went :) I had a really great time and found Paulo to be a warm, welcoming, crazy fun man from whom I learnt a lot. He is very resourceful and has many skills in repairing things which has been eye-opening to watch & learn from. He is also very knowledgeable in many things, mostly computers and general life! He communicates clearly and directly and explains himself well. Together, we pushed eachother out of our comfort zones in a wonderful way. It has been a pleasure to spend time with him. It's been a real adventure!

Paulo é gentil, engraçado e organizado. As atividades feitas na casa eram variadas, como: preparar refeições simples, tratar o gato, descascar vegetais, mover entulhos e atividades mais pesadas como limpar os banheiros do prédio com lixívia pura, desencardir cadeiras e etc. Pontos a melhorar: A máquina não estava funcionando, portanto tive que lavar algumas roupas à mão. Assim como as bicicletas que estavam quebradas, e não pude utilizá-las. Os horários poderiam ser mais definidos (minha culpa também). Foi uma experiência boa e um prazer conhecer o anfitrião - troquei boas ideias e conversas

Desde el primer momento fue un lugar donde me hicieron sentir muy comoda, el anfitrión Paulo es una persona muy calida y con la cual podes hablar de cualquier cosa,tuve el placer de conocer a su enamorada Maria que también me transmitía una muy buena vibra. En cuanto a las tareas a realizar,la verdad nada fuera de lo normal, desde tareas del hogar hasta ayudar a digitalizar algunos documentos. Siempre fui tratada con mucho respeto asi que para mi eso es algo a destacar. Estoy muy conforme con el trato recibido y sin duda volvería.
