I have only great things to say about my time at the hostel. Ikary and the rest of the team instantly welcomed me and made this feel like home away from home. We all got to know each other well during shifts where there is mutual respect and clear communication. The overall environment within the hostel is calm and cozy and our shared meals and conversations as a team added to that. This is an ideal experience to meet international travelers, learn about Latvia, make amazing colleagues/friends, and experience personal growth. Thank you the hostel!

I went for a month, but ended up staying 6! the hostel felt like a home, not just for me but also the guests. The hostel is cosy and very social, but not a party place: you can sleep at night. The working hours and days off are respected, and the weeks follow the same pattern so it's easy to plan trips around Latvia. If you're on a cleaning shift, your hours might even be lower than 5 hr/day. Ikary is one of the best bosses I've ever had: once you learn his standards and expectations, he has your back always. We became family for sure! I will certainly go back, if I ever have the chance <3

This was our first volunteering experience and we couldn't have wished for a better place. the hostel is a calm and inviting Hostel that quickly felt like home. The host Ikary is very helpful and chill, his trust in us made us feel secure. He made our stay pleasureful, we organized lunches together, where we cooked and ate traditional dishes with the team. We were able to meet and talk to lots of interesting people. The tasks were easy to learn but taught us lots of things. We are very grateful that we were able to make the hostel our home for a month and definitely want to come back.

I had an amazing experience volunteering at the hostel! This place feels like home, I was warmly welcomed by the host and the other volunteers. I felt so comfortable! The work (cleaning and reception) was easily managable (with enough free time) and I learned a lot, especially in the reception. The host was always there for the volunteers, if we had questions or needed help. He would always have our back. I highly recommend to volunteer at this hostel, if you are looking for a calm and cozy place to stay and if you take the work that you do seriously! I had an amazing time!

Worked with Gonzalo and Yohaan, Damian and Paula. They also contributed with making my experience even better. The owner Ikary was always around and ready to help. My work was alternating reception and housekeeping. There were two women that work here as housekeeping, so we were in charge of only one floor. As this is not a party hostel, the guests who stayed here were very interesting; had a bunch of nice experiences while traveling and the atmosphere was always friendly and engaging. Sometimes after closing reception we organized plans with the guests. Lovely experience. Thank u!
