The Experience

We are currently accepting applications for 2025. This position is for mix gender. You will stay in Mix gender dormitory. Our guesthouse is only a 4 min walk from the biggest lake in Japan! We are looking for staff to: -help to clean the hostel( bedmaking, cleaning bathrooms, gardening) -15 hours per week, 3 to 4 days per week. -You will be given one bunk bed in the dormitory room. Including bike rental, roundly & kitchen use

J-Hopper was one of our best experiences in Japan. We have been welcome by Akane, Eric, Kaito, Chii and Catalina ! They formed a wonderful crew to take care of this guesthouse. Work hours have been respected and the job was very simple. By the way the perfect organisation surprise us very much ! Finally we also meet wonderful people here, guest or volunteer like Elsa and Rebeka ! We hope to meet her again in Europe! We also recommend J-Hopper for the situation. The place is close to the station and you can visit all around the lake ! Kyoto isalso 1 hour of train !

The communication with Akane-san is really satisfying and fast, we set everything in 2 weeks. The place is quite large and there is plenty to do and help with, even off-season. The amount of work was just as described, it is also possible to get a lift to do the grocery shopping and back if Akane-san is at the reception desk. The work is simple, and only cleaning baths requires more attention so as not to get wet when doing it. The place is just stunning, from one side there is Biwa Lake and from the other there are mountains. If you are looking for a place to rest and unwind this is it.
