The Experience

Staying in Catarpe has been a great, remote experience and you usually work 3-4 hours per day (depending on what needs to be done). Tasks were clear and Mey even considered my vegetarian diet for lunch. You must speak some Spanish as English is not an option. Overall a wonderful experience in the middle of nature :)

A very enriching experience, I wish I could have stayed longer! It's in the middle of very beautiful nature and the work was fun (although pretty physical). Jorge and Mey were really kind and helpful with me. I really enjoyed spending time walking around and connecting with nature.

I spent two beautiful weeks in Catarpe which I extended for a few more days as we volunteers had the chance to participate in a ceremony. Mey and Jorge are lovely persons who tell you clearly what to do. At times the work can get physical and tiring. But there were no tasks lasting longer than 2-3 hours. So it's a good variety and it doesn't get boring. Everybody was paying attention to my very basic spanish skills and tried to speak slowly. Miss the three magical dogs already. The landscape is amazing and I was able to explore everything with our bikes.

There are no words to describe this experience. This was my first time volunteering and it was unforgettable. I felt very welcomed by Maybel and her family, people with a wealth of knowledge and culture. Every day was unique and we were able to do different tasks that were not difficult. The landscapes in this place are absolutely incredible, there's so much to explore. I thank you for your welcome and patience, and I hope lot of tourists come to visit. I recommend the volunteers to people who are open-minded about new things and have the willpower to learn and carry out the tasks given.

I had a really nice time at meys house! the place is beautiful with an amazing nature around. you can have bikes and ride around the place, there's a few beautiful things to do. just be aware that the house is far from san pedro, so it's not that easy to go and come back. it's a great place to be surrounded by nature and connect with yourself :) the food was also great and fulfilling i do recommend and would come back
