Jay is a Pearl! He was like a brother to me during the stay. Work was light and the place is really peacefull in the backwater, the sunset can be seen from the hostel. Jay presented me to many of his friends and i even had the chance to be invited to a traditionnal wedding from Jay's friends. I recommend this volunteer opportunity to anyone looking for authentic encounters with locals and backwater life.

I had a wonderful experience volunteering at this beachside hostel. The location is absolutely stunning, just steps away from the ocean, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The host was kind, communicative, and made me feel appreciated throughout my stay. I had the chance to meet amazing people from all over the world and really enjoyed the sense of community. Highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful and enjoyable stay by the sea!

Magic little hostel on the beach, everybody becomes your friend and makes you feel so welcome. Especially the host Jay & his friend Tom you can ask them anything and they go above and beyond and their local knowledge is excellent. Jay real looks after you and get you to try all the local restaurants, my fav was the small dosa and chia kiosk with the locals on the bench and street dogs 🥰. I stayed a week, cleaned up parts of the hostel, painted murals on drift wood, did Insta reels of kayaking, helped check guest in online. Its was an amazing experience, thank you for hosting me.

Working and staying at Jay's Hostel was great! I loved this place. He is one of the kindest people and therefore I felt so welcomed. He showed me the tasks I had to do, was very patient and helped me if I got anything wrong. Besides doing tasks this place is great for relaxing and enjoying. Jay took me kayaking which was a unforgettable experience and showed me the local places I had to visit. It was really fun working with Jay and I would totally recommend staying there! I definitely want to go there again someday.
