The Experience

We teach kids around our village to read and speak English. We need volunteers to help our students to learn and practice English and other international languages. We have two bedrooms for the volunteers. The volunteers can visit our koi farm and many places around our village. There are some small temples around and our place is about two hours to reach Borobudur temple and Dieng plateau.

What an awesome experience! I really felt like I had an impact by helping students improve their English and teaching them new things about my culture. In exchange, the students taught me Javanese and Indonesian, as well as their local traditions. Niha and Emha were wonderful hosts. Always smiling and making sure I felt at home. They were incredibly generous, patient and respectful. Thanks to them I was able to learn more about Temanggung. For instance exploring the tofu and tobacco production. The local people are super friendly and always making sure you feel welcomed. Loved it!

Definitely home away from home!!! It was an experience that touched my heart deeply. From the moment I arrived, I was embraced with warmth and hospitality that made me feel like home. Teaching their students was a joy. The children were so sweet, making each lesson engaging and rewarding. The family's support extended beyond the classroom, offering insights into local traditions, cuisine, and daily life, enriching my understanding of Javanese culture. Thanks for everything again my friends!! See you soon.

True immersive experience in the local culture. The host and all the family is incredibly kind and generous which I was very touched and sensitive. I also felt listened and respected in the culture difference. I felt more part of the family after one day than with other people I know for a long time. Food was tasty and exactly how I like. I would just have wished to have more exchange about the mission in advance to know more about the organization because I like to know where I m going 😉

Staying with a local family during Eid was one of the most meaningful experiences of my travels. I was welcomed with open arms and treated like part of the family. Being there during the holiday allowed me to truly experience local life—meeting extended family, visiting neighbors, and being invited into home after home with endless generosity. The food was incredible and nonstop, and I learned so much about the culture, traditions, and rhythm of village life. It was fun, heartwarming, and completely unique. I'll always remember the kindness, the laughter, and the connections I made here.

I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to volunteer at the project. I had so much fun to say the least. The host family treated me like one of their own, I really felt so at home and happy here. I love their simple lifestyle, and they are the sweetest, kindest people. I truly enjoyed getting to know their students and really appreciate the diverse experiences I had there getting to visit other schools, witnessing a cassava, soy, and tempe production, visiting a koi farm and getting to feed the koi. I've grown so attached to this family, and the food is so delicious! I highly recommend.
